Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Data Migration Lead to drive large-scale modernization efforts, migrating SAS-based data platforms to cloud-native AWS and PySpark solutions. You will align with architects, data engineers, stakeholders, and global delivery teams to deliver scalable, secure data solutions.

You will lead migration strategies, establish data quality and governance frameworks, and provide technical leadership across ETL teams and QA throughout the migration lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and enterprise data integration.
• Hands-on SAS, PySpark, and AWS Glue experience.
• Led cloud data migration and modernization programs.
• Expertise with AWS services: S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, Athena.
• Advanced SQL, data modeling, and data transformation skills.
• Experience implementing data quality, reconciliation, governance, and migration frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, planning, and migration of SAS programs, datasets, macros, and ETL workflows to AWS-based data platforms.
• Define migration strategies, standards, and best practices for PySpark and AWS Glue.
• Partner with data architects and engineering teams to design scalable cloud data lake architectures.
• Establish data validation, reconciliation, and quality frameworks for accurate migrations.
• Provide technical leadership and governance to data engineers, ETL developers, architects, and QA teams.
