Job summary

WellTheory in the United States is seeking its first Clinical Research Scientist to build the research function from the ground up. You will design studies, analyze member and claims data, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and translate findings into commercial evidence and improved care.

This senior individual contributor role offers remote work, influence over program evolution, IRB oversight, and collaboration with care, product, and data teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in epidemiology, health services research, outcomes research, biostatistics, public health, nutrition science, or related field.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Experience applying real-world evidence methods to claims data (e.g., MarketScan, Optum, HealthVerity).
• Experience in digital health, payer, or life sciences.
• Current work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design observational studies on member data and analyses using appropriate methodologies.
• Analyze medical and pharmacy claims for utilization and cost trends.
• Publish as first or senior author in clinical journals and present at relevant conferences.
• Lead collaborations with health plans, employers, and academic partners; manage IRB submissions.
