Job summary

Sentara Health Plans is seeking a flexible time pharmacist to support the Central Medication Refill Program in a remote, PRN/as-needed role. The pharmacist will manage patient drug therapy, review provider orders for safety and effectiveness, and uphold high standards of patient care in an electronic workflow.

The role requires a Virginia Pharmacist license, BLS, and 2 years of clinical or ambulatory experience. The position emphasizes evidence-based management and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license in Virginia required.
• BLS certification required.
• 2 years of clinical or ambulatory pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient drug therapy in accordance with clinical practice standards.
• Ensure the appropriateness of medication orders to maintain patient safety.
• Provide safe, effective, and timely pharmacy services in a primarily electronic workflow.
• Precept pharmacy students, residents, and other learners as assigned.
