Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Clinical Operations Associate Medical Director to support post-acute care medical management. The role offers remote work with required in-person training, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

An MD or DO with ABMS/AOA board certification is required, plus an active unrestricted medical license. Salary ranges from $179,503 to $307,732 annually; schedule 11:00AM–8:00PM CT with one weekend per month, and remote work is available, with some locations requiring commuting

Qualifications

• Requires MD or DO and Board certification approved by ABMS or AOA.
• Must possess an active unrestricted medical license.
• 3 years of clinical experience post residency; inpatient post-acute care preferred.
• Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehab is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports medical management staff to ensure timely, consistent medical decisions for members and providers.
• Completes clinical case reviews timely for board-certified specialties.
• Makes physician-to-physician calls to gather information for medical necessity determinations.
• Ensures medical necessity decisions align with medical policies.
• Escalates cases requiring Medical Director review or policy interpretation.
