Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to enhance the quality and completeness of clinical documentation and coding accuracy.

You will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and coding professionals to reflect illness severity and services provided, while ensuring compliance with state and federal payer regulations. Travel within the SRHS service area is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with two years of acute-care nursing experience preferred; BSN preferred.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification in RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or inpatient coder preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
• Educate and serve as a clinical liaison to nursing staff and clinicians on compliant documentation and accurate coding.
• Reconcile DRG differences between Coding and Clinical Documentation teams; ensure compliance with payer regulations.
