Job summary

RhythmScience Inc. is seeking an Applied Research Scientist, Clinical AI, to own the ML depth for scaling AI Data Viz, AI Report Builder and Heart Failure AI features. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will ensure model quality, evaluation, and deployment in production.

You will transform complex cardiac data into population-outcomes reporting while collaborating asynchronously across US time zones. This US-remote role blends research rigor with practical deployment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch and SQL.
• Experience building and deploying clinical/biomedical ML models (EHR/time-series/data).
• Ability to work with real-world messy device data.
• Strong ML evaluation methodologies including leakage prevention and custom metrics.
• Excellent written communication for remote, asynchronous teams.
• Advanced degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy rigorous evaluations to ensure clinical safety of ML outputs.
• Ship production models integrated with RS360 backend.
• Develop cohort and outcome analytics from patient data.
• Backtest against human-written notes to build trust across teams.
• Safely handle PHI, balancing data utility and privacy.
