Job summary

National Audubon Society in Florida seeks a remote CLI Seasonal Assistant to support the Conservation Leadership Initiative, coordinating with the Chapters Conservation Manager, planning events, mentoring a 25-student cohort, and engaging with university partners.

This five-month internship (Jan–May 2027) is remote in Florida, 20 hours per week, at $19 per hour, with occasional travel to three weekend events.

Qualifications

Commitment to Audubon values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation.
Coursework in an environmental field or related.
Interest in environmental issues, birds, and wildlife.
Experience planning events.
Experience working with or leading college groups or clubs.
Experience fostering inclusive and collaborative work environments is valued.
A self-starter, motivated, able to work independently and with a team.
Conservation Leadership Initiative alumni are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with contacts at colleges and universities across Florida for CLI recruitment.
Assist with planning and facilitation of regional outreach events.
Provide ongoing coordination and support for CLI participants and mentors.
Facilitate virtual check-ins and webinars on topics such as student conservation projects and cohort engagement.
Maintain and foster a culture of safety.
