Athens Administrators is seeking a Claims Supervisor for the California Workers’ Compensation department. The role leads a claims unit, making daily decisions, reviewing files, and approving settlements within authority.

The supervisor collaborates with clients and management to streamline processes and enhance service quality. The position offers a hybrid work model with one weekly in-office day in California and potential remote work contingent on technical needs and residence.

Qualifications

• Must have California workers’ compensation knowledge and experience.
• Experience in supervising and coordinating a claims unit.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication with clients and internal teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office and reporting tools.
• Ability to train and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise 6-10 staff, planning workloads and daily activities.
• Review claim files for accuracy and ensure proper reserves.
• Authorize releases of payment and settlements within authority.
• Develop and present regular performance and client-related reports.
• Collaborate with clients, attorneys, and management to resolve issues.
• Guide training and onboarding of new hires.
• Maintain quality file handling and compliance with policies.
