Job summary

HCSC is seeking a Claims Recovery Examiner to research refund checks, out of balance entries and non-negotiated checks, with the possibility to offset, void, or reissue provider payments. The role leverages knowledge of complex pricing, contract pricing and coordination of benefits.

The position requires a high school diploma, COB experience, strong math and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team while managing changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year COB experience.
• Ability to determine health care reimbursement methodologies and coordinate benefits.
• Organizational and time management skills; flexibility with changing priorities.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including outbound calls for information gathering.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, research refund checks, out of balance entries and non-negotiated checks; actions may include offsetting, voiding or reissuing provider checks.
• Assist in applying complex pricing and contract pricing knowledge and coordination of benefits.
• May interact with customers and business partners to resolve issues and gather necessary information.
• Preferred candidates may have 2 years in related claims processing or accounting practices.
