Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Claims Examiner - Liability with multi-state jurisdiction to analyze complex liability claims, including auto, BI, PD, GL, and rehab needs. The role involves adjudicating claims in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on subrogation and settlements, and requires licensing reciprocity where applicable.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of claims management experience, with NY licensing preferred and nationwide jurisdiction knowledge.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensing: NY preferred; reciprocal license required.
• Jurisdiction Knowledge: Nationwide jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex or technically difficult liability claims to determine benefits due; work with high exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation; adjudicate claims within service expectations and client requirements; identify subrogation and negotiate settlements.
• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to reach timely resolutions by gathering information to determine exposure.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions professionally and timely.
