Security Mutual Life Insurance is seeking a Claims Customer Service Representative focused on handling life and health claims. You will respond to calls, gather information for first notices of loss, and provide accurate claim updates while protecting confidential information.

Work will be primarily remote with periodic time in the Binghamton, NY or Houston, TX offices. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential, with potential overtime and a customer‑friendly, compliant approach

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Customer Service.
• Experience in an insurance industry or call center environment.
• Health insurance industry customer service experience preferred.
• Spanish language ability is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize a heavy workload.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional overtime.

Responsabilités

• Respond to incoming calls and complete return calls regarding life and health claims in a timely, courteous manner.
• Process first notice of loss by gathering information and initiating the claim in the system.
• Explain the claims process and required documentation clearly to claimants and policyowners.
• Provide accurate, up-to-date claim status information to callers.
• Document every call and interaction in the system with details and outcomes.
• Prepare and send follow-up letters and forms as needed while meeting service standards.
• Access multiple systems to research and confirm claim details.
• Route inquiries to the appropriate Claims team and escalate issues when needed.
