Job summary

MedPro Group seeks an experienced claims professional in Fort Wayne, Indiana, responsible for managing coverage, resolving claims, and supervising litigation with outside counsel. The role includes reserving, negotiations, and supporting sales and retention efforts.

A J.D. is preferred, but a Bachelor's with relevant experience is acceptable. Strong negotiating skills and multi-state experience are valued assets for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of claim experience with hospital excess (re)insurance professional liability and other liability claims.
• Multi-state experience preferred.
• Strong negotiating skills.

Responsibilities

• Confirm coverage and manage claims and suits brought against accounts.
• Interpret, analyze, and resolve coverage issues.
• Select and appoint legal counsel.
• Manage litigation with outside counsel and accounts.
• Manage litigation costs, incl. fees and expenses.
• Post timely and accurate Loss and ALE reserves.
• Resolve cases via dismissal, settlement or trial.
• Negotiate case resolutions.
• Provide service to insureds and assist in sales and account retention efforts.
• Conduct claim audits of self-insured accounts and TPAs.
• Perform other activities required of a claims professional.
