Txcivilrights is seeking a Spring Law Clerk or Extern for their Criminal Legal Program. This temporary position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civil rights law and advocacy. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited law school and possess strong research and writing skills. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, assisting in drafting documents, and participating in court proceedings. A stipend or academic credit may be available depending on funding. This role can be remote or based in Austin, Houston, or Alamo.
Qualifications
Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in civil rights law.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience or coursework in civil rights or constitutional law is preferred.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal research on various civil rights issues.
Assist with drafting legal memoranda and briefs.
