Job summary

Cannon in Irvine or Los Angeles is seeking a California-licensed Civil Project Manager to lead Public Works projects, supervise design teams, and deliver plans, specs, and cost estimates.

The role emphasizes client liaison, project scheduling, quality control, mentoring staff, and pursuing new business opportunities.

Candidates should have a PE license, a BS in Civil Engineering, and at least nine years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• California PE license required.
• Minimum 9 years of civil/public works experience.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Concurrently manages a variety of civil engineering Public Works projects.
• Works independently on engineering design for projects requiring creative solutions.
• Tracks project scope, budgets, and schedules to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability.
• Effectively manages quality assurance and quality control.
• Uses technical knowledge to prepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for street widening, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, ADA compliance, storm drain (hydrology and hydraulics), and water quality BMPs.
• Primary interface with clients on project coordination and design and follow-up to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained, and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured.
• Directs and mentors project engineers and design engineers on technical matters and procedures and acts as a technical resource to staff.
• Establishes and fosters client relations and develops letter proposals (scope, schedule and fee estimates).
• Communicates effectively with various departments, clients, and agencies.
