Job summary

Relevant Management Services, LLC is seeking a litigation attorney in a remote-first, independent-contracting role focused on Virginia civil matters. You will take cases end to end—from evaluation and strategy to drafting, discovery, and court appearances—while the platform handles operations and administration.

You will work autonomously, manage multiple matters, and contribute strong drafting, negotiation, and courtroom skills in a distributed practice for flexible, attorney-owned services.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia State Bar admission in good standing.
• Professional liability insurance covering the engagement or ability to obtain coverage.
• Substantial litigation experience in Virginia state and federal courts.
• End-to-end handling from intake through trial or resolution.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
• Proficiency with legal research platforms, including AI-powered tools.
• Self-directed in a remote-first environment, able to manage multiple matters.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil litigation matters from evaluation through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and counsel clients on risk and resolution paths.
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct depositions, negotiate with opposing counsel, and appear in Virginia state and federal courts as needed.
• Manage your own docket and deadlines independently in a distributed practice.
