About Civilocity

Civilocity acts as a civil engineering department for civil engineering firms, providing them with everything from drafting to design, engineering, calculations, reports, and peer review. Our team supports firms by delivering high-quality work that aligns with their standards, allowing them to scale efficiently without the overhead of hiring full-time staff. We work on a variety of land development projects ranging from single-family residential to large subdivisions, commercial, residential, and educational. While we support engineering firms with technical expertise, we do not act as the engineer of record.

We are seeking a Civil Project Manager to oversee and manage projects, guide project engineers and designers, and act as the primary point of contact for clients. This role requires a licensed professional engineer (PE) in the U.S. or an equivalent engineering license from another country.

About the Role

This position is ideal for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys managing projects, leading a team, and maintaining strong client relationships. The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring project quality, managing timelines, and coordinating resources effectively.

We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates, but this role is not suitable for someone with an existing full-time job elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage civil engineering projects from initial concept to final delivery.
  • Act as the primary client-facing representative, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.
  • Oversee and guide project engineers, designers, and drafters, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, reports, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, local regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in business development by fostering relationships with clients and identifying new project opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S. (preferred) or an equivalent engineering license from another country.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 2+ years in a project management role.
  • Strong understanding of land development, site design, grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting processes.
  • Experience managing teams of engineers, designers, and drafters in a remote or distributed environment.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with other civil engineering software.
  • Experience using stormwater modeling programs such as HydroCAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, or similar software for hydrology and hydraulic analysis.
Why Join Civilocity?
  • Work remotely with a flexible schedule.
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team on diverse civil engineering projects around the United States.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in the company’s growth and shape its future.
