Job summary

Joyce University of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking a Chief Information Officer to build our in-house technology organization and drive AI-enabled transformation across student and staff systems. You will lead a transition from managed services and set the technology agenda to support growth and innovation.

You will report to the Chief Operating Officer and sit on the President’s Cabinet, shaping strategic technology investments, data governance, and risk management for the university.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business, or related field.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible technology leadership, including significant executive-level responsibility.
• Experience leading technology organizations in a complex, highly regulated, mission-driven environment.
• Track record of using technology to drive growth and student/customer outcomes, not just cost.
• Experience building or scaling a technology structure and transitioning from outsourced to internal capability.

Responsibilities

• Set a multi-year technology, data, and AI strategy aligned to the university plan.
• Provide trusted, timely data and analytics to leaders for proactive coaching and outcomes.
• Partner with academic and administrative leaders to improve the student experience from recruitment to graduation.
• Build AI systems and automated workflows at scale, with governance for responsible use.
• Own a secure, integrated technology environment and oversee cybersecurity and compliance.
