Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Chief Software Engineer to lead enterprise-wide architectural initiatives, define long-term technology strategy, and deliver scalable distributed systems. You will act as a technical authority across teams and mentor senior engineers.

The role requires deep expertise in system design, performance engineering, reliability, and cross-organizational leadership. Remote-friendly, full-time W2 engagement with SOW in-house delivery.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise designing distributed, high-scale systems in production.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, system optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives across multiple business units.
• Strong expertise in reliability engineering and distributed architectures.
• Demonstrated leadership in architectural decision-making at enterprise scale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-level architectural standards, system design principles, and engineering guardrails across units.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems at global scale.
• Architect multi-region, fault-tolerant platforms with availability and disaster recovery.
• Drive modernization initiatives including microservices and platform consolidation.
• Define API governance, data architecture, and service communication patterns.
• Design systems for scalability, availability, and security with capacity planning.
• Evaluate high-performance data storage solutions for major workloads.
• Lead reliability engineering and incident response improvements enterprise-wide.
• Conduct deep architectural reviews and performance audits across platforms.
• Guide teams on concurrency, observability, and optimization strategies.
• Define DevOps, CI/CD, and automation strategy across teams.
• Partner with leadership on technology roadmap decisions.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and contribute to talent growth.
• Drive innovation and evaluate emerging technologies for strategic adoption.
• Lead resolution of critical production issues requiring architectural insight.
