Job summary

X-Bow Systems is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead program engineering on Solid Rocket Motors. Remote in the United States, you will direct design, analysis, and testing of SRM components, coordinating propulsion, materials, and structural teams to deliver safe, reliable motor systems.

You will shape ground tests, manufacturing integration, and safety procedures, while guiding a multi-disciplinary engineering group and communicating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years SRM experience in design, analysis and testing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with propulsion system integration.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team in design, analysis, and test of SRM components and systems.
• Collaborate with propulsion, materials, and structural engineers for integrated designs.
• Collaborate with ballistics to optimize motor performance (thrust, burn rate, pressure).
• Define and perform ground-based testing of SRM prototypes.
• Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing techniques for motor production.
• Develop testing procedures and safety protocols.
• Document design processes and results for stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with solid propulsion advancements.
