Job summary

Cahaba Media Group is seeking a seasoned editor and brand steward to direct editorial strategy, oversee print and web content, and manage a diverse team of editors, writers, and freelancers. You will shape the brand voice, drive deadlines, and collaborate with sales and events teams to maximize impact across publications and digital media.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience, strong editing and leadership capabilities, and comfort with multiple responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English or communications.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Copy editing experience.
• Reporting and/or writing experience.
• Experience managing a team.
• Podcast or webinar hosting/editing experience.
• Experience attending or hosting trade shows or industry conferences.
• Familiar with AP Style, InDesign and WordPress.
• Comfortable wearing many hats.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic editorial policy for the brand aligned with company goals.
• Oversee editorial direction for print and web products.
• Supervise editorial team and liaise with sales.
• Supervise freelance teams incl. photographers and writers.
• Oversee print issue production and web content schedules.
• Provide cover direction for Creative Services.
