Job summary

Guardian Life is seeking a Head of Enterprise API Platform to lead the strategy and execution of the company-wide API ecosystem. You will modernize APIs, set engineering standards, and guide teams delivering scalable integration solutions across the organization.

You will partner with architecture, cybersecurity, and platform teams to align on integration patterns, improve developer experience, and drive adoption of reusable APIs across product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering; 10+ years software engineering/API/platform experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and delivering at enterprise scale.
• Experience designing and implementing API strategies and integration architectures.
• Strong security knowledge: authentication, authorization, zero-trust.
• Experience operating in complex, cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of scalable API platforms across the enterprise.
• Establish and enforce API standards for security, performance, and lifecycle management.
• Modernize legacy integrations into reusable, well-governed APIs.
• Drive API adoption and reuse across product and engineering teams.
