Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Chemistry Expert (AI Training) to design and evaluate advanced chemistry problems for AI models. This fully remote hourly contract role involves solving, reviewing, and designing real-world chemistry tasks spanning organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry.

You will collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers, ensure scientific rigor, and help improve model reasoning with 10–40 hours/week and potential for ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Holds a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry.
• Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry software (e.g., Gaussian, VASP).
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in an asynchronous environment.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced, real-world chemistry problems spanning organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry
• Solve and review complex problem sets to ensure scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
• Evaluate AI-generated chemistry reasoning and outputs against expert-level standards
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to strengthen model performance
• Ensure every deliverable meets the highest standards of scientific rigor and precision
