Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert (AI Training) to craft advanced chemistry problems and gold-standard solutions for evaluating AI reasoning. The role is remote, hourly, and suitable for someone pursuing or holding a Master’s in Chemistry or a related field.

You will design benchmarks spanning chemistry subfields, assess AI outputs for accuracy, and collaborate with researchers to drive meaningful improvements in AI science tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across chemistry domains.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in writing.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced chemistry problems to rigorously test AI reasoning and performance across topics like chemical engineering, biochemistry, thermodynamics, and more.
• Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with precise logic that serve as gold-standard benchmarks.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy, depth of reasoning, and quality.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to refine and improve benchmarks spanning undergraduate through Master’s-level chemistry.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that helps research teams identify gaps in AI understanding.
