An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Cancer Registry Specialist to provide essential cancer statistics and support vital research initiatives. This role involves abstracting clinical documentation, assisting with committee planning, and conducting studies as requested. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in cancer data abstraction and relevant certifications. Provides basic cancer statistics and graphs, supporting research, prevention, and control initiatives in accordance with the Virginia Department of Health, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer standards, and the organizational priorities of the University of Virginia Health System.
Position Compensation Range: $22.84 - $36.54 per hour
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Allied Health preferred.
Experience: 2 years' relevant experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified Tumor Registrar or Oncology Data Specialist through the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) required.
This is primarily a sedentary role involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel to attend meetings and programs may be required.
