Job summary

Canonical, a leader in open-source software, is hiring a Software Engineer for Ceph & Distributed Storage. Remote in EMEA or the Americas. You will write Python and Golang, work with a global team, and help scale Ceph storage in production.

You should have a CS/STEM degree, strong Python experience, and Ceph storage familiarity, plus a drive for open source and collaboration across regions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/ STEM or equivalent required.
Experience writing modern, maintainable Python code.
Experience with Ceph storage is required or highly desired.
Passionate about technology and working with brilliant people.
Curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable; strong soft skills.
Interest in two+ of Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Python, Go, or Debian packaging.
Strong academic track record; travel up to 4 times per year.

Responsibilities

Write high-quality, rigorously designed Python and Golang software.
Collaborate with a globally distributed team.
Debug issues and deliver high-quality fixes.
Contribute to technical documentation and best practices for operators.
Discuss ideas and collaborate on effective solutions.
Develop and maintain software for delivery, operations and lifecycle management of Ceph storage.
