Job summary

Vercel is seeking a backend-focused Software Engineer to strengthen the CDN Content team responsible for global content delivery, caching, and image optimization. You’ll work across Go, TypeScript, and the serving path, delivering production-ready features with careful rollout strategies.

You’ll collaborate with Next.js and other framework teams to shape performance and cost for developers worldwide. The role includes on-call duties and a path toward owning larger subsystems over time.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building and operating backend services in production.
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or comparable systems language.
• Strong understanding of HTTP and web fundamentals; writing operable, tested code.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve services behind ISR, PPR, and image optimization across the serving path.
• Execute well-defined projects independently from implementation to rollout with feature flags and validation.
• Monitor production and own dashboards, metrics, and alerts for reliability.
• Contribute to observability and testing surfaces with dashboards and logs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and assist incident follow-ups to improve resilience.
• Collaborate with Next.js, CI/CD, and partner teams through design reviews and code changes.
