Job summary

Second Wave Delivery Systems, LLC seeks a Query Writer to draft, issue, and manage compliant physician queries for accurate documentation and reimbursement.

You will collaborate with CDI teams, reviewers, and medical directors to improve DRG and SOI accuracy while adhering to AHIMA/ACDIS standards in a remote, hospital-based setting.

Requires five years hospital CDI experience, RN/NP/PT/PA background, Bachelor's degree, and 3M Encoder experience; compensation ranges from $95k to $120k.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in hospital CDI or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and issue compliant physician queries based on clinical indicators and documentation gaps.
• Review medical records to identify opportunities for clarification impacting DRG assignment and reimbursement.
• Ensure queries adhere to AHIMA and ACDIS standards for compliance and neutrality.
• Track outstanding queries to ensure timely response and resolution.
• Collaborate with CDI professionals and inpatient coders to align documentation with coding and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of query activity for audits and reporting.
• Participate in education initiatives for providers regarding documentation best practices.
