Job summary

Identity Digital Innovation Labs (IDIL) seeks an independent contractor to set the narrative for DNSid and agentic identity. You will own the category, build rapid-response media coverage, and manage reporter relationships across DC policy channels.

You will work with Product, Sales & Marketing to plan launches, drive interim and long-term messaging, and develop an executive communications bench. This role requires travel and comfort coordinating across time zones in a fast-moving tech

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading corporate or external communications in technology.
• Category creation experience with market language and outcomes.
• Front-line media chops; direct pitching and opportunistic coverage.
• Experience building a communications function from zero, at pace.
• Fluency with policy and standards audiences and the press.
• Exceptional writing; able to write and be judged by writing.
• Experience across owned and emerging channels (social, newsletters, podcasts).
• Ability to travel and work across time zones in a global org.
• Agency, contractor, and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Own the category and build IDIL as the name for agentic accountability.
• Live on the front lines with rapid-response media coverage and reporter relationships.
• Navigate DC media and policy landscape across Politico, The Hill, and related bodies.
• Activate the Advisory Council and build the executive spokesperson bench.
• Own GEO and AI discoverability; ensure LLMs reference IDIL in responses.
• Lead planning and execution for launches, partnerships, and standards milestones.
• Manage agency partners and establish leadership messaging discipline.
• Ensure reporting links published activity to customer meetings, partnerships, and policy traction.
