Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Virtual Cardiopulmonary Technician I to perform remote rhythm surveillance from a central monitoring station across multiple locations with lower patient acuity. You will recognize, record, and report rhythm changes and arrhythmias, following established standards and regulatory requirements, while monitoring up to 60 patients using advanced technology.

Qualifications

• Three months of post-secondary education/training in EKG technology as a monitor tech.
• Minimum 2 years of recent professional work experience of any type.
• Successful completion of a Basic EKG test within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient's cardiac rhythms and oxygen saturation using cardio-pulmonary monitoring equipment.
• Obtain a baseline ECG strip on all monitored patients according to department guidelines.
• Record and post cardiac strips following established procedures.
• Update and verify patient data in the information system; maintain unit/department records as assigned.
• Recognize rhythms with potential to alter the patient’s physiology and obtain a documentary ECG strip.
• Immediately report all arrhythmias to the RN responsible for the patient following established protocols.
