Job summary

NMS is seeking a remote camp housekeeper to perform cleaning across remote facilities in Alaska. This role involves cleaning and restocking kitchens, living areas, clinics, and common spaces while following safety guidelines.

Duties include sweeping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and trash disposal; some shifts may be night or day. Applicants must have at least one year of cleaning experience, pass pre-employment checks, and be able to live in dormitory-style accommodations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year experience with commercial cleaning equipment and processes.
• At least one year experience in commercial housekeeping.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements including drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessment, and hearing test.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with others.
• Must make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must stand for 12 hours per shift.
• Must be able to live in dormitory-style settings and meet cleanliness requirements.
• Contract requires English reading/writing/speaking.
• Must meet safety guidelines and company/client regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sweep, vacuum, mop, or restock hallways, offices, kitchens, laundry, clinics, living areas and restrooms.
• Dust and clean low and high areas; wipe surfaces.
• Use appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment for tasks.
• Remove and dispose of trash properly.
• May perform light maintenance and snow removal.
• Operate vehicles to remote locations as needed.
• Support diverse duties including occasional specialized cleaning tasks.
