Job summary

Nana Management Services, LLC is seeking a remote head cook to manage kitchen staff at a Schlumberger North Slope site in Alaska. This 3-week on/3-week off rotation requires leadership, training, and adherence to safety policies in a remote camp environment.

The role focuses on recipe development, high-volume cooking, and ensuring sanitation, with duties including staff supervision, safety coordination, and collaboration with clients and safety personnel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with formal training or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of directly related restaurant cooking experience in high-volume settings.
• Ability to instruct and train others and handle multiple tasks.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Must pass pre-employment testing and travel to Anchorage if location requires it.
• Must speak/read/write English.
• Able to stand for long shifts (12 hours).
• Residence in dormitory style remote camp settings.
• Must cooperate as part of a team and make decisions with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop recipes based on type of food and apply knowledge to food preparation.
• Cook according to recipes and prepare meats, sauces, vegetables, soups, and other foods.
• Carve meats and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in work areas.
• Maintain excellent client and staff communications to improve service quality.
• Adhere to safety policies and coordinate safety activities and meetings.
• Instruct and train staff on safety policies, planning, and procedures.
• Supervise up to 30 on-site staff in a remote camp environment.
• Notify supervisor if safety/ sanitation standards are not met.
• Perform other duties as assigned and supervise staff as needed.
