Job summary

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of California civil litigation paralegal experience.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and litigation practices.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, or otherwise qualified under California Business and Professions Code § 6450.
• Excellent legal writing, drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with legal practice-management software; Clio Manage experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Los Angeles Superior Court e-filing procedures.
• Experience with real estate litigation and/or unlawful detainer matters strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload involving unlawful detainer, real estate, and breach of contract matters.
• Draft complaints, demurrers, oppositions, ex parte applications, declarations, and other litigation documents for attorney review.
• Prepare and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and other discovery.
• Track accelerated discovery deadlines and assist with preparing and responding to motions to compel.
• Ensure pleadings, filings, and case documents comply with applicable California procedural and court requirements.
• Work with the Los Angeles Superior Court (LASC) e-filing systems.
• Use Clio Manage and other practice-management and legal technology platforms.
