Job summary

Paige, a GCG company, seeks a Product Design Engineer to develop wire, cable, connectors, and related electrical products that meet customer needs and industry standards. You’ll support the full product design process, from requirements through specifications, supplier coordination, testing, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 3+ years in product or cable engineering.
• Knowledge of wire and cable design principles.
• Experience with engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD).
• Understand materials, manufacturing, and application impacts.
• Ability to communicate technical info to stakeholders.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.
• Proactive problem solving and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design activities from requirements to production readiness.
• Create and maintain drawings, specs, BOMs, and purchase specs.
• Apply wire and cable knowledge to develop manufacturable designs.
• Review customer requirements and advise on construction and compliance.
• Communicate with customers and supplier teams on technical needs.
• Coordinate with suppliers to evaluate materials, capabilities, and costs.
• Develop clear specifications for suppliers and internal teams.
• Support product qualification testing and regulatory listings.
• Gather supplier declarations and environmental compliance docs.
• Maintain accurate design, testing, and compliance records.
• Coordinate design changes and ensure current documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve design, docs, and workflows.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
