Harris' DataVoice International division is seeking a passionate Software Developer to join our team, focusing on enhancing our core C++ product line. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to solutions that help utility companies manage outages effectively.

This remote role is open to candidates anywhere in Canada and the US, working in Central time (CDT / CST). Occasional travel to the DFW area in Texas (2-3 times per year) is required, and a valid passport is necessary for Canadian candidates traveling to the US.

What your impact will be :

• Work as a key member of the R&D team to analyze and program changes in the DataVoice product suite
• Design and develop software components under guidance from senior team members or the technical architect
• Assist Professional Services and Support staff with technical issue investigations
• Ensure code quality and reusability through strong programming skills
• Follow specifications to meet functional and technical requirements
• Provide timely updates on work progress
• Analyze and troubleshoot product issues reported by clients

What we are looking for :

• Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• Minimum of 2+ years of software engineering/development experience
• Ability to understand business requirements for designing technical solutions
• Flexibility with working hours to meet project deadlines
• Excellent coding skills, analytical abilities, and eagerness to learn
• Ability to work independently and in a team within tight timelines
• Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
• Experience in C++ development

• Knowledge of web development (JavaScript / PHP)
• Experience with automation scripting (Bash) and systems programming
