Harris' DataVoice International division is seeking a passionate Software Developer to join our team, focusing on enhancing our core C++ product line. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to solutions that help utility companies manage outages effectively.

This remote role is open to candidates across Canada and the US, working in Central time (CDT/CST). Travel to the DFW area in Texas is required 2-3 times per year. A valid passport is necessary for Canadian candidates traveling to the US.

What your impact will be :

1. Analyze and program changes in the DataVoice product suite as a key member of the R&D team.
2. Design and develop software components under guidance from senior team members or the technical architect.
3. Assist Professional Services and Support staff with investigations of technical issues.
4. Ensure code quality and reusability through strong programming skills.
5. Follow specifications to meet functional and technical requirements.
6. Provide timely updates on work progress.
7. Analyze and troubleshoot product issues reported by clients.

What we are looking for :

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
2. Minimum 2+ years of software engineering/development experience.
3. Ability to understand business requirements for designing technical solutions.
4. Flexibility with working hours to meet project deadlines.
5. Strong coding, analytical skills, and eagerness to learn.
6. Ability to work independently and in a team.
7. Strong work ethic.

What would make you stand out :

1. Experience with automation, Bash scripting, or systems programming.
2. Knowledge of GitLab pipelines.
3. Experience with Docker.
