Job summary

Lvi-Associates is seeking a Design Engineer in the United States to engineer complete building automation and HVAC control systems from bid award through turnover. You will translate mechanical drawings, specifications and sequences of operation into buildable control system designs, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, points lists and submittals for a range of projects.

The role requires familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit, BIM coordination workflows, and the ability to read and interpret

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HVAC systems (AHUs, VAV, chillers, boilers, RTUs).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural documents.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination workflows and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Size and select field devices (valves, dampers, actuators, sensors, VFDs, controllers).
• Support estimating, change orders, RFIs and value engineering.
• Coordinate with field technicians and programmers through installation, commissioning and closeout; resolve design issues on site.
• Produce as-built documentation and O&M manuals at project completion.

The Design Engineer is responsible for engineering complete building automation and HVAC control systems from bid award through construction turnover. You'll translate mechanical drawings, specifications and sequences of operation into buildable control system designs — panel layouts, wiring diagrams, points lists and submittals — across commercial, healthcare, data centre, education and institutional projects.

• Coordinate with field technicians and programmers through installation, commissioning and closeout; resolve design issues on site.

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge of HVAC systems: AHUs, VAV, chilled water and hot water plants, boilers, RTUs, heat pumps.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit; familiarity with BIM coordination workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and architectural construction documents.
