Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of claims handling experience OR 5+ years of claims handling experience.
• Proficiency in general liability claims and coverage knowledge.
• Ability to obtain/maintain required state licenses.

Responsibilities

• Settle mildly complex claims by determining liability and reaching agreement.
• May support litigation by analyzing settlements, evidence, and supervising discovery.
• Handle mediations, arbitrations, subrogation, and recorded settlements.
• Determine coverage through investigations and interviewing involved parties.
• Mentor and train claims representatives in claims expertise.
• Resolve questionable claims by thorough investigation and evidence comparison.
• Ensure proper file documentation per company/state requirements.
• Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing claim information.
• Contribute to catastrophe teams and overall department guidelines.
