Lumen is seeking a Big Data Developer to build and optimize large-scale data solutions that help identify and disrupt malicious threats across the Internet. In this remote US-facing role, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies and work with security engineers to protect critical digital infrastructure.

You will lead innovative projects, influence technical direction, and grow your expertise while solving cybersecurity challenges at scale.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Engineering/Math or equivalent work experience.
• Experience building ingestion, processing and analytics pipelines with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive.
• Proficient in Python, Java, Scala or SQL.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of big data solutions to identify threats.
• Architect scalable data pipelines using Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive and related tech.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business data needs.
• ETL data from multiple sources (SQL, APIs, JSON, XML, CSV) with data quality and security.
• Develop real-time validation systems and mentor junior developers.
• Explore PoCs to evaluate new technologies for threat detection and efficiency.
