Job summary

Belmont Behavioral Health System is seeking a Remote Billing Specialist to manage insurance verification, billing and collections for a behavioral health organization. The role requires accurate, timely submission of third party claims, problem resolution with payer edits, and documentation in patient accounting systems.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in billing, extensive knowledge of commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid, and familiarity with SSI or Availity Pro.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years' experience in related field.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Commercial Insurance and Medicare/Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Completes all third party electronic and manual billing timely and accurately.
• Resolves issues with incomplete claims and follows up on non-transmitted claims.
• Submits adjustment claims to Medicare/Medicaid and attaches necessary documents.
• Mails manual claims to payers daily and processes daily reports.
• Maintains daily productivity records and ensures proper documentation in patient accounting systems.
• Participates in required in-services and training.
• Experience with Behavioral Health billing preferred (CBH/CCBH).
• Experience with SSI and/or Availity Pro preferred.
