About Our Client

Our client is a fast paced professional services firm seeking a remote based Payroll Specialist.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full-cycle payroll process, including data entry, payroll calculation, and distribution of paychecks via ADP Work Force Now.
  • Process payroll for multiple states, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations and tax requirements.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll-related tasks such as bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting related to employee status changes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax with professionalism and clarity.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency in ADP Work Force Now is required.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with payroll audits and compliance reviews.
  • Certification in payroll processing (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and reporting tools.
