Qualifications

• Basic programming and object-oriented concepts are expected.
• Know a backend language such as Node.js, Python, Java or PHP.
• Understand HTTP, JSON, REST, client-server applications and database basics.
• Express.js, Django, Flask, Spring Boot, Git and application-security knowledge are beneficial.
• Communicate clearly, reason through problems and manage remote deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop server-side features and connect REST APIs to web applications.
• Implement business rules, authentication and validation.
• Store and retrieve application information using SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Connect backend services with frontend interfaces and external APIs.
• Test and debug services, including performance, reliability and security issues.
• Use version control, document API behaviour and coordinate with remote teammates.
