We are currently seeking a skilled Web3 Backend Engineer to contribute to the upgrade and maintenance of a multi-chain EVM indexer and REST API. Catalyst's goal is to create an interconnected ecosystem where users can effortlessly access assets and applications across multiple chains, while also providing streamlined integration for developers to create new chains and connect them to existing networks.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the design, implementation, and pipeline for off-chain systems.
  • Extend off-chain systems compatibility with new ecosystems, including new VMs and new messaging protocols.
  • Working with partners to operate the off-chain infrastructure, including providing support to problems that arise during usage.
  • Ensure seamless communication and interoperability between multiple blockchain networks.
  • Optimize the performance and scalability of the relayer to handle high volumes of transactions and liquidity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a Web3 Backend Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Smart Contract, relayer infrastructure and/or MEV.
  • Strong proficiency in web3 technologies and protocols, with a deep understanding of blockchain interoperability concepts.
  • Experience with backend development using languages like TypeScript and Nest.js.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize performance and scalability of backend systems. Strong desire and ability to learn new programming languages to understand implementations in unfamiliar programming languages.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a remote team.
  • Passion for crypto and blockchain ecosystems and a desire to contribute to the growth of the industry.
