Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking an experience Azure Platform Engineer. This fully remote candidate will have extensive experience with IaC and Azure Services, as well as the ability to lead discussion on Azure best practices across the environment scope!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Azure Infrastructure: Set up, manage, and maintain Azure services like Virtual Machines, Storage, SQL Databases, and Functions to ensure strong performance, reliability, and scalability. Use tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform to automate deployments.
  • Ensure Cloud Security: Apply and manage security tools such as Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, and Network Security Groups. Perform regular audits and use platforms like Azure Security Center and Sentinel to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Improve System Performance: Monitor system health using tools like Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Optimize resource use, control costs, and fix performance issues in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Plan for Disaster Recovery: Create and test disaster recovery plans using Azure services like Backup and Site Recovery to maintain business continuity.
  • Work with Dev Teams: Support developers and DevOps teams by integrating Azure solutions into their workflows. Manage containers with services like AKS and ACI, and assist with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitLab.
  • Stay Compliant: Ensure systems meet industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR) using Azure tools and keep compliance documentation up to date.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up with new Azure features and trends. Recommend new tools or technologies that benefit the organization.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep clear records of cloud setups and share performance reports with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Azure platform/ solutions - 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure services, including designing and deploying scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions
  • Azure Services - Proficiency with core Azure services such as Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Virtual Network (VNet), Azure CDN, and Azure Active Directory (AAD).
  • IaaC - Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or Bicep.
  • Automating deployments - Proven expertise in automating deployments and system workflows using tools like Ansible, Azure Automation, Azure DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure Pipelines, GitLab Runners).
  • Networking - In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, VPNs, Load Balancers, Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, and ExpressRoute)
  • Soft Skills - Understands best practice & can educate the team on what they should do, why they should do it, and how they can do it better
