Job summary

ITnova is seeking a Cloud Architecture Team Lead to support the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Aviation Department’s ADAW project. The role designs and leads cloud-based data architectures on Azure, including Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Databricks, while guiding platform strategy and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/SE or related field.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and data platform development.
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Databricks, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with APIs, batch processing, streaming data, and SFTP transfers.
• Knowledge of data warehouse architecture, ingestion, transformation, storage, and lakehouse design.
• Experience implementing cloud security, IAM, and RBAC.
• Ability to lead initiatives and establish architecture standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the cloud data architecture and technology strategy for the ADAW.
• Design and oversee a scalable, secure, resilient cloud-based data warehouse platform.
• Establish standards for data ingestion, transformation, storage, lakehouse design, and data retention.
• Lead the integration of data from APIs, batch feeds, streaming sources, and SFTP transfers.
• Establish API management and secure data transfer standards and best practices.
• Implement security architecture, including IAM, RBAC, and key management.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team.
• Ensure the platform architecture supports evolving data integration, analytics, and BI requirements.
