Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an AWS Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure scalable AWS networking architectures. The role emphasizes leading hybrid-cloud initiatives and partnering with multiple teams to ensure robust network infrastructure.

The candidate will focus on VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, and security controls, while advancing IaC with Terraform for automated provisioning and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing network architectures in AWS.
• Experience with VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Route 53, and Load Balancers.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable AWS networking architectures (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN).
• Develop enterprise network strategies to support cloud adoption and modernization.
• Lead hybrid-cloud network transformation projects integrating AWS with on-premises systems.
• Implement network security controls aligned with Zero Trust (Security Groups, NACLs, AWS Network Firewall).
• Use Terraform to automate network provisioning and IaC deployment.
• Design networking solutions for containerized workloads (EKS, Kubernetes).
• Partner with security and platform teams to establish governance and roadmaps.
