Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a remote AWS DevOps specialist for an international organization based in New York. The role requires +3 years of hands-on AWS cloud experience, strong DevOps practices, CI/CD, IaC, and the ability to work during NY business hours from anywhere.

You will manage deployments, automation, monitoring, and security across production AWS systems with a focus on Microservices and Docker containers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in a related field.
• +3 years hands-on AWS DevOps experience in a cloud environment.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and monitoring.
• Experience with automated testing and deployment verification.
• Scripting in Python; Terraform; MongoDB; Redis.
• AWS services – EC2, ECS, ELB/ALB, IAM, KMS, Cognito, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, Lambda, SES, SNS, SQS.
• Git workflows, PRs, and Bash.
• Knowledge of microservices and Docker containerization.
• English proficiency (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist in migration of websites to AWS.
• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.
• Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
• System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
• Pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance.
• Provision of cloud security best practices.
• Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
• Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.
• Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.
• Perform other duties as may be reasonably required.
