Job summary

WorkNovas LLC is seeking a Principal AWS Data Architect to lead the architecture and modernization of a large-scale data platform on AWS. This senior role blends strategic vision with hands-on technical leadership across data governance, lakehouse design, and cloud security.

You will partner with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders to define the future-state data platform, optimize costs, and ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of IT/data engineering experience in large-scale or Fortune 500 environments.
• Proven leadership as Principal Data Architect or equivalent senior technical leader.
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS data services and cloud architecture.
• Experience leading large-scale data modernization, migration, and lift-and-shift initiatives.
• Expertise in enterprise data lake/lakehouse architectures and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and modernization of enterprise data platforms on AWS.
• Develop roadmaps for migrating legacy data warehouses to modern AWS architectures.
• Design scalable data lake and lakehouse architectures for high-volume data.
• Drive lift-and-shift initiatives with minimal disruption.
• Establish data governance, DataOps, and automated data quality controls.
• Provide technical direction on data modeling, integration, and platform engineering.
• Mentor senior data engineers and architects.
