Job summary

ICF is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and governance of secure, scalable cloud-native solutions in complex enterprise environments.

The architect will coordinate with client leadership and SMEs to define modernization paths and establish repeatable standards for AWS workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional required.
• 10+ years in enterprise cloud solution architecture.
• 8+ years across network, applications, data, or low-code/no-code domains.
• 5+ years designing secure AWS environments in regulated settings.
• 5+ years implementing IaC with automated security in CI/CD.
• 5+ years supporting cloud governance and continuous monitoring.
• 3+ years in hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
• 5+ years modernizing large app portfolios and setting standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current state and architect secure AWS cloud environments.
• Create a factory model for modernizing cloud applications.
• Assess data architectures and integration patterns to support modernization.
• Design cloud architectures for long-term sustainment and operations.
• Provide architectural leadership across concurrent modernization efforts.
• Lead application rationalization activities.
• Define and govern shared cloud services and patterns.
• Develop reference architectures, standards, and governance controls.
• Lead architectural design reviews and ensure security/compliance alignment.
• Integrate IaC and automated security into DevSecOps pipelines.
• Maintain alignment with security frameworks and authorization environments.
• Support FinOps, scalability, performance, availability, and DR strategies.
• Provide direction for cloud-native, containerized workloads.
• Partner with engineering, security, and operations for maintainability.
