Job summary

Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is seeking a Software Verification & Validation Engineer to support safety-critical flight control and avionics software development for advanced vertical lift programs.

The role emphasizes development, revision, and execution of requirements-based test artifacts, with collaboration across system, software, and lab teams in a schedule-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, or computer engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in requirements-based software verification and validation.
• Experience with DO-178B/C or equivalent aerospace standards.
• Developing and executing test cases from system and high‑level software requirements.
• Experience in SIL, HIL, or integration labs.
• MATLAB/Simulink verification toolsets in model-based development.
• Tools: DOORS, Git, Dimensions, ADO in controlled workflows.
• Interpret complex requirements to ensure complete verification coverage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and evolving builds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain test documentation and DOORs/Wiki guidance.
• Draft high-level verification procedures and C# test scripts.
• Execute tests in SIL environments and analyze results.
• Develop automated tests using VS Code and customer extensions.
• Track discrepancies in Azure DevOps and coordinate with teams.
• Update tests as builds evolve and ensure traceability.
• Coordinate with design engineers to validate coverage.
