What You’ll Do
The Remote Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities
Configuration
- Primary contact for site deployment, commissioning, and build documentation
- Configuration, maintenance, and standardization of AV tech
- Configuration process documentation
Asset Management
- Maintain inventory documents
- Configure devices to simplify asset management process
Support
- Remote ticket support and team routing
- Remote meeting assistance
- Monitor and assist with workload of team
- Oversee issues escalated to external vendors
- Establish and train backup subject matter experts within team
- Perform remote assistance and room testing when needed for Preventative Maintenance Visits
- Maintain standard working hours, anytime between 8am ET and 5pm PT
System Integration Installation Assist
- The remote support person will serve as the primary, with other OMS techs contributing as needed to balance scheduling and avoid double booking.
- Commissioning and project install work will typically be communicated at least a week in advance
to allow for balancing and scheduling of the work across the team, if needed.
Prioritization of Responsibilities
This is a fluid process and should be gauged by severity/impact. Generally:
- Commissioning (as long as properly communicated and planned ahead)
- Remote ticketing / support
- Non-installation configuration projects
Items To Consider
- AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
- This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.
Must-Haves
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner including soldering & crimping connectors
- Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
- Intermediate computer knowledge
- Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
- Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 – 3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred
